Pictures from a recent visit to Assisi in Italy, another one of our favourite places.

The first two pictures were taken through the windscreen of a moving car, something Im getting good at because sometimes the driver just refuses to stop.

These pictures were taken in october 2008. We started the day in San Marino where we had spent the previous night. After a quick tour of San Marino we drove south over the mountains to Urbino then on to Assisi and then ended up in Rome after dark. Not bad for a day trip. The pictures from San Marino, Urbino and Rome will be on their own pages.

That last one is of a bit of fence that visitors have covered in bits of dried chewing gum for reasons best known to themselves. One thing that sticks in my mind about Assisi is the complete absence of street litter or vandalism, the place is as tidy as it is beautiful
